Attorney Andrew D. Glasgow is one of the most experienced family law attorneys in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He has handled over 1,000 clients, and has extensive experience in the courtroom. For over fifteen years, he has represented scores of clients at trials, hearings, appeals, and conferences. In addition to local custody cases, he has represented clients across the United States in international custody cases, in states such as California, Connecticut, and Louisiana. Past disputes have affected clients from Japan, United Kingdom, Ireland, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Brazil, and Jamaica. Thus, his understanding and exposure to family law is not limited just to local Pittsburgh cases. An advocate against international child abduction, he has enforced the Hague Convention treaty pertaining to child abduction. He earned an award of merit from the U.S. State Department for his legal work in this area.
Unlike many lawyers, Attorney Glasgow has significant experience in the appellate courts, both in the federal and state court systems. In Pennsylvania, he has represented clients before the Pennsylvania Superior Court and Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He helped change the law in his victorious case before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In the federal court system, he has represented clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is a member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States–rare for a lawyer.
Attorney Glasgow has handled and settled cases where the marital assets were in the multi-millions. Thus he is no stranger to cases involving large marital estates. He is particularly skilled in marital estates where a corporation, LLC, partnership, or sole proprietorship is an asset. His clients are frequently doctors, engineers, computer consultants, dentists, business owners, and professors. He is adept at strategy and tactics.
In his spare time, Attorney Glasgow climbed Mount Kilimanjaro–the highest mountain in Africa, reaching the icy summit over 19,000 feet. This achievement illustrates his determination and strength of mind.
Attorney Glasgow graduated from Case Western Reserve Law School, a private and prestigious law school in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his doctorate in jurisprudence there. He also attended a summer institute in St. Petersburg, Russia on international law. Previous to becoming a lawyer, he studied philosophy in Scotland. He received his Dipl. Moral Phil. from the University of St. Andrews, ranked as the third best university in the United Kingdom. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis. He graduated with highest honors with a double major in English and philosophy.

“Let us have faith that right makes might.” – Abraham Lincoln
A lawyer should be in the business of helping people. A lawyer should know effective legal principles and procedures to apply to your situation. This attorney should be organized, timely, neat, and articulate. He or she should be easy to reach, and make progress on your case. The focus should be fighting for your best interests.
Our firm lives by this creed.
Our firm might be regarded as a boutique family law firm. That is, most of our cases fall into the area of family law. As a result, we have a great deal of experience and knowledge in this particular area of the law. If you needed heart surgery, would you hire a foot doctor? Of course not. Similarly, why hire a lawyer outside the area of family law to handle your divorce, custody case, or adoption? Benefit from our vast experience.
Our firm understands efficiency and adapts to changing technology. We utilize the high-speed communications of email, texting, and video-conferencing, in addition to the standard methods of in-person contact and first-class mail. We like saving trees too.
Ad Idem is a legal term. In Latin, the phrase means “to the same mind.” When the parties become of the same mind, they have reached a resolution. This is the goal and philosophy of our firm: to reach efficiently a resolution of your legal matter. We believe that a quick and acceptable resolution is especially appropriate in family law cases, to reduce the negative impact on your children and your own personal life. After all, you are getting a divorce, but in many cases, your ex-spouse will still have some presence in your life afterwards. Creating bitter hatred within your current family with prolonged litigation only makes your own life more difficult later. Naturally, we demand and aggressively pursue a fair resolution for you.
